Steam Exploration Sale: Nov 30th

Here’s the list of recommended titles for today. Remember we’re looking to give the most bang for your Buck, Euro, or whatever currency you might use where you live, but gaming is a subjective past time and we would recommend you look at what’s on offer yourselves in case there’s something on offer that we haven’t featured.

Fallout New Vegas – The follow up to the critically acclaimed Fallout 3 has an awful lot of content to play through, even before you enter the realms of DLC. Even after 4 years this game is still a great investment for anyone that loves WRPG’s and wants an immersive gaming experience that will last them for hours on end. If you have yet to play New Vegas, now is your chance.

South Park: The Stick of Truth – A genuine GOTY contender available for a third of the normal price, Obsidian’s South Park: TSOT lived up to the hype, despite the closure of original publisher THQ and the subsequent delayed release. Matt Stone and Trey Parker’s close to the bone sense of humour can be found winding its way through the game like the Red stuff in a filthy Raspberry Ripple ice cream. Nothing is off limits in this game, indeed if you live in Europe the PC version is the only uncensored version you’ll be able to play.

The Walking Dead The Game: Season 2 – TellTale Games’ first season of Walking Dead episodes was rightly considered one of the games of the year in 2013, and when they returned this year many were expecting more of the same. While the second season might not have had the same impact, it was still a very tense experience. More of the same, when it’s this good, is never a bad thing.

The Witcher 2 Assassins of Kings Enhanced Edition – CD Projekt’s Open World Action Adventure RPG series, which is based on a series of books by Andrzej Sapkowski, is ridiculously popular not just in Poland, but around the world. Never heard of it? well then now’s the time to set that right. You can pick up this enhanced edition of the second Witcher game for an absolute song right now and that’s even before you consider that it comes with a bunch of extras including the soundtrack in MP3 format. This is the ultimate Witcher 2 experience.

Lego Marvel Super Heroes – Its a Lego game, It’s a Marvel game, you should probably play this. If you need another reason, just imagine how satisfying it will be to play as the Hulk and smash everything until it’s just a pile of LEGO bricks. Yeah, you can probably do that with most of the playable characters, but can Thor shout HULK SMASH! while doing it? I didn’t think so…

Dragon Age Origins – With a 91% rating on Metacritic, and one of the most loyal fan bases in gaming, it’s probably safe to say that if you haven’t already played Dragon Age Origins you’re at least aware of the BioWare series from which it was spawned. Another Action Fantasy RPG in the style of The Witcher or the Oblivion series, Dragon Age gives you the best possible value for money with a hefty 75% discount until 6pm tonight. This series is a spiritual successor to Baldurs Gate and offers re-play value out the wazoo, with three classes and several races for you to play around with.
